A decision has been made in the Presidential Cabinet meeting held on April 12, 2022, regarding the qualification conditions of Turkish citizenship through real estate investment. The minimum real estate purchase value for citizenship applications is increased to 400.000 USD from 250.000 USD.
In line with the decision taken at the meeting, foreigners now must buy real estate worth at least 400.000 USD or an equal amount of foreign currency in order to be eligible for Turkish citizenship. Additionally, the buyer must give an annotation to the land registry and commit not to transfer the purchased property to someone else for the next 3 years.
The necessary changes will be made to the Regulation on the Implementation of the Turkish Citizenship Law in accordance with the decision taken at the meeting. New conditions will come into effect with the annunciation of the decision in the Official Gazette within the next few days.
